If you’re an employee earning tips and have received more than $20 in gratuities during October 2025, it’s crucial to report them to your employer. This must be done via IRS Form 4070 by November 10. Employers are mandated to withhold FICA and income taxes from your regular salaries for these tips. Should your regular wages fall short of covering the tax withholdings, the balance will be indicated in Box 8 of your W-2 form.
